ZDRUŽBA BUKVE IN JESENSKE VILOVINE
Seslerio autumnalis–Fagetum (Ht.)
Ponekod so tla zelo kamnita. Združbo bukve in jesenske vilovine uvrščamo v zvezo Aremonio-Fagion. |
The Seslerio autumnalis–Fagetum is a zonal forest association and covers the vegetation zone of the littoral mountain region at an altitude of 200 to 1,100 meters extending from Banjščica to the Snežnik mountain chain. It grows on the sunny slopes of the Kras massif, sweeping down by leaps and bounds to the littoral submontane region. The average annual temperatures range from 10° C to 12° C. High average annual precipitation mitigates to a great extent the effects of the warm climate. The association grows on the coldest sites of the submediterranean region. The Seslerio autumnalis–Fagetum grows particularly on limestone and occasionally on dolomite on shallow chromic Cambisol that is interwoven with patches of rendzic Leptosols. In places, there are relatively rocky areas. Locally these forests also thrive on flysch parent material. Diagnostic combination of plant species Many forests of the association Seslerio autumnalis–Fagetum on the lower edge of its areal on the border with the submontane region have changed into the secondary association of the Seslerio autumnalis–Ostryetum carpinifolia. On abandoned meadows of potentially natural sites of the Seslerio autumnalis–Fagetum, Austrian pine (Pinus nigra) grows very well. Forests of inferior quality, particularly coppices where there is periodic grazing, are predominant. The association Seslerio autumnalis–Fagetum is classified in the alliance Aremonio–Fagion. |
